Frequently Asked Questions
We hope you'll find the answers to your questions about this innovation here.

What kind of support will you have for the first time with this innovative medical device ?
To support the first use of this medical device, three 3D animations will be available in different formats (online, CD, USB key): - One to help a caregiver install the device around a patient's body. - One to explain to the user how to use the device without the intervention of another person. - One to explain to the caregiver how to evacuate body waste and clean the device. On the home page of the website, you can download instructions on how to use the device, with lots of photos. The future company Elimatch has chosen to use visual information to support the first use of the device. On request, it will be possible to program a voice or video call for the first use to answer other questions.

Is it possible to transfer the ICK device from one user to another ?
Yes, it is possible, but with the necessary rigour to avoid the transmission of pathogens from one user to another. It is therefore necessary to pump a bactericidal solution into the mobile urine collection unit using the pneumatic urine pump and to expel it into the urine bag before passing all reusable parts through a bedpan washer. For the electropneumatic part of the unit, the control box and all its pneumatic connections must be disinfected with a bactericide.

Can the single-use collector be offered at a lower price at a later stage ?
The advertised retail price, excluding VAT, depends on the production cost of the disposable collector, which requires numerous plastic welding, sewing and other assembly operations. By automating some of these operations, which will require significant investment, it will be possible to reduce production costs and therefore the selling price. Without the purchase of the disposable collector at the advertised price, the company will not be able to self-finance the large investment required to automate production. That's why, in order to promote this innovation, it's important to buy it as soon as it hits the market.

Is the ICK medical device designed more for women than for men ?
The ICK medical device can be used by both men and women. It is simply more comfortable for women to use as the urine stream is directed directly into the mobile collector, whereas for men the urine stream may wet the testicles and crotch area before flowing into the disposable collector. It will be possible at a later stage to add a honeycomb structure to the crotch strap of the disposable collector to minimise this discomfort.
